LEAD
Sam van Meurs
Sam hails from the Australian Capital Territory, and has always had a passion for psychology and mental health, volunteering with the disadvantaged and chronically unwell in the Canberra region from the age of 16. After a year abroad after school he returned to the ACT to complete an undergraduate in psychology at the Australian National University while working in disabilities. For the past ten years Sam has worked part-time in private practice in the ACT, even after moving to Sydney in 2014 to work in the occupational health and rehab industry briefly, before working in trauma and critical incident response with emergency services and other large organisations across Sydney and NSW. For the past three years Sam has focused more holistically on working with a policing population, providing support and assessment for individuals experiencing PTSD, chronic pain, and also employees who are trying to get their physical and mental health back on track. In addition to this work, Sam has also been providing assessment services for Child Protection, Family Court, and the Federal Circuit Court for the past ten years.
